LONGVIEW â The Longview Police Department said that three juveniles were reportedly shot in a vehicle near Lake Lamond and West Marshall Avenue on Saturday. According to Longview PD, and our news partner KETK, officers responded to the 200 block of West Cheryl Street at 11:55 p.m. to talk to three juvenile shooting victims who were shot at another location. Longview Fire EMS took the victims to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Longview PD said this is an ongoing investigation and detectives are collecting information. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Longview PD at 903-237-1110.
One injured in Tyler apartment shooting
TYLER â Our news partners at KETK report that one person was injured in a shooting Sunday night at the Marabella Apartments in Tyler. According to police, they responded to the scene after receiving a call about gunshots and found that one person had been taken to a local emergency room with a gunshot wound. The person was later taken to a hospital for surgery, and police said there is evidence to suggest the shooting was not random. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work the case.
One dead after Harrison County crash
HARRISON COUNTY â our news partners at KETK report that a two-vehicle crash just southeast of Marshall last week left one man dead. According to a preliminary crash report from DPS, 66-year-old Larry Richardson of Elysian Fields had his 2017 Ford F-150 stopped on FM 2625 facing west at the intersection of FM 31. The Ford reportedly failed to yield the right of way at a stop intersection and hit a 2009 International Box Truck that was going north on FM 31. Richardson was pronounced dead the next morning at a Longview hospital. The driver of the box truck was not injured, authorities said.
TxDOT Tyler roadwork continues
TYLER â TxDOT road projects are continuing Wednesday, Sept. 13 and Thursday, Sept. 14, as crews will be working on FM 848 from SH 64 to FM 248/University Blvd. The roadway will be closed each day from 8a to 5p. Tyler Art Alley reveals first murals
TYLER — The Art Alley in Tyler unveiled more than 40 brand new murals at itâs grand opening on Saturday. 48 local artists attended the free event where they got to show off their art which was also shown in photo books for sale, our news partner KETK reports. âSo Tyler actually has a really beautiful budding culture of local art. People are starting to come downtown and enjoy that,â said Lindsey Froneberger, downtown specialist. âYouâll see that with our vendor markets we have throughout Tyler and downtown and also the Tyler Arts Festival each year and weâve got a ton of art galleries in the downtown area too. So having just a walkable free outside place to come to a condensed group of murals really just helps people to come downtown and enjoy themselves.â The Art Alleyâs next phase starts in 2025 and new murals will be revealed in 2026.
Rains County Sheriff’s make sex crimes arrest
RAINS COUNTY â The Rains County Sheriffâs Office announced the arrest of a Dallas man for crimes against children. According to our news partner KETK, authorities say that Christian Paul Castillo was arrested Friday and charged with online solicitation of a minor. Besides the Rain County SO, the Caddo Mills Police Department, Texas DPS and the State Office of Inspector General and Office of Attorney General all were involved in this investigation. The Sheriff’s Office also said the investigation is continuing and no more information will be available.
12-year-old shot to death in Wood Country
WOOD COUNTY â The Wood County Sheriffâs Office reported Saturday a 12-year-old boy was shot and killed in rural Alba-Golden. According to our news partner KETK, Investigators said the boys mother called and said her son had been shot in the head. When WCSO and EMS arrived they found the boy had died. The sheriff’s office conducted one interview on the scene of the shooting. Officials stated because the person interviewed and the deceased are both minors no further information will be released.

Gilmer man arrested in Maine for Texas murder
MARSHALL â Authorities in Maine have arrested a Gilmer man in connection to a murder in Ore City. According to our news partner KETK, 36-year-old Kristopher Dylan Ratcliff was booked into the Harrison County Jail Saturday, charged with murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Harrison County Sheriff’s Office said they issued an arrest warrant in July 4 shooting death of 35-year-old Jeremy Vick of Ore City. Vick was shot in Ore City/Lazy Lakes, transported to a local hospital, where he died. The U.S. Marshal Service arrested Ratcliff in Bangor, Maine. He was transported back to Texas and is currently in the Harrison County Jail.
Tyler Water Utilities lifts boil water notice
TYLER â On Friday, September 8, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Tyler public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. Tyler Water Utilities has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of Saturday, Sept. 9.

LONGVIEW â The 74th Gregg County fair kicked off on Friday Sept. 8 and runs until Saturday Sept. 16 at the Gregg County fair grounds. UT Health to break ground on new $12 million facility
TYLER â UT Health East Texas announced the date they will break ground on a new facility designed for orthopedics and sports medicine services. According to our news partner KETK, a groundbreaking ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15. The new building location will be on Old Jacksonville Highway, next to the existing UT Health East Texas Physicians clinic on Three Lakes Parkway.

Tyler Water Utilities issues boil water noticeÂ
TYLER — The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the City of Tyler public water system to notify Tyler Water Utilities customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.) This comes as the result of a single routine sample site that tested showing the presence of e. coli, followed by a repeat sample at the same site in Central Tyler showing the presence of total coliform. E. coli was only found in one sample site out of many tested. Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions. Missing 24-year-old woman found safe
TYLER â The Tyler Police Department said Anna Allison has been reunited with her family after they found her safe and uninjured. Her family said they had last seen her Monday night at her residence. Tyler Police thanks everyone who helped in this matter which was resolved Friday evening.

Tylerâs Putt-Putt to close their doors after 64 years
TYLER — After more than 60 years in business, Tylerâs Put-Putt Golf & Games will be closing their doors soon. According to our news partner KETK, in November of 2022, owners Katherine and Tom Adair were informed by Genecov that their land was going to be sold. The couple was given the option to purchase the property, but declined the offer. Katherineâs parents bought the business in 1959, when she was just 2 years old. Both her parents passed in the 1990âs, and Katherine officially took over operations. âItâs been really sad,â Katherine said. âI think itâs going to be really sad for Tyler.
