GLADEWATER — Law enforcement officials continue to search for a capital murder suspect. According to the Gladewater Police Department and our news partner KETK, 41-year-old Alvin “Pookie†McKnight Jr is considered “armed and extremely dangerous†after a double homicide north of Gladewater Saturday night. The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office said that the shooting happened at home in the 2800 block of U.S Highway 271 South, near Bluebird Road. When deputies arrived at the scene they found Mandy Ray, 35, of Gilmer, and Dermetrica Dashaunda Waters, 37, of Gilmer, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. TEXARKANA – The Texarkana Police Department is asking the community to help curb the violence after a recent mass shooting according to our news partners at KETK. On Oct. 28, Texarkana police launched an investigation into its second mass shooting of the year. The shooting occurred during a party in the back room of a business when a fight reportedly began and at least two men pulled out rifles. MARSHALL – The Marshall Police Department has announced that a pedestrian died in a crash that happened in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue on Friday. Our colleagues at KETK report that the Marshall PD said that they expect their investigation into this fatal crash to take an extended amount of time and that drivers should avoid the area of the crash. Officials said that they are not releasing the name of the deceased pedestrian until they can notify their next of kin.

TYLER — Tyler Police responded to a missing persons call at a home on West Gentry Parkway Friday at about 11:45am. According to our news partner KETK, the child reported missing and or a runaway is 15-year-old Isaiah Bright. He is 5’10 and 170lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. Isaiah was last seen wearing black pants, a black hat with a “T†on it and a red shirt with a gingerbread man on it. He is also said to be a high functioning autistic person. If you encounter Isaiah Bright or know of his location contact the Tyler PD at 903-531-1000.
RUSK COUNTY – Authorities in Rusk County arrested an individual for the sexual assault of a child. According to our news partner KETK, 20-year-old Aaron Ables of Hughes Springs was detained when a Rusk County Sheriff’s patrol found his car in a church parking lot near Pirtle Oct. 28. What officers also found was a minor in the back of Ables vehicle. He was then taken into custody to the Rusk County Jail and was charged with the sexual assault of a child. The RCSO said Albes bond was set at $60,000.
HENDERSON — Tyler Pipe had a grand opening Monday for its new transload facility at the Henderson Industrial Park. According to our news partner KETK, the purpose of the center is to transfer goods from one mode of transportation to another until they reach their destination. With Henderson’s location to railways, officials feel the transload facility is a good fit for Tyler Pipe.

PANOLA COUNTY – A man was arrested on Tuesday in Panola County after officials said he had barricaded himself inside his grandmother’s home with a gun, according to our news partners at KETK. According to Sheriff Cutter Clinton, a caller reported around 3:45 p.m. that a man, identified as Bradley Clakley, “had assaulted his grandmother and chased her to the neighbor’s house with a gun.†The caller reportedly told authorities Clakley went back to his grandmother’s house and was inside with a gun. Clinton said the sheriff’s office responded to the scene on CR 407 in the Antioch community, blocked off the area and began to negotiate with him. Read the rest of this entry »
CHEROKEE COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety said that one person is dead after an ATV and vehicle crashed on State Highway 21 on Saturday night. Our news colleagues at KETK report that around 9 p.m. on Saturday, a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was travelling southwest on State Highway 21 when a 2007 Honda ATV turned State Highway 21 west. According to Texas DPS, the driver of the Tahoe had limited visibility and could not see the ATV clearly. The Tahoe and the ATV collided and the driver of the ATV, Ronterreal Mumphrey, 36 of Alto, was ejected from the ATV. Mumphrey was pronounced dead at UT Health in Tyler. The driver of the Tahoe was taken to a hospital in Jacksonville. DPS is continuing to investigate the crash.
