After an All-American career at the University of Oklahoma that included winning the national championship against Penn State in the 1985 Orange Bowl, running back Spencer Tillman was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1987.
He played for the Oilers for two seasons before being traded to San Franciso where he played from 1989 to 1991. During his time at San Francisco, he was co-captain with Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott as part of the 49ers roster at Super Bowl XXIV when they defeated the AFC champion Denver Broncos.
Tillman was traded back to Houston in 1992 and he would complete his NFL career there in 1994.
Now a TV and radio broadcaster based in Houston, Tillman visited with Bill Coates on Radio Row Thursday afternoon at Super Bowl LI.
