County commissioners approved new penalty provisions Tuesday for the county\u2019s smoking policy. The law already says every smoker must be 50 feet away from county buildings to smoke, but now smokers will get hit with a class C misdemeanor and a $200 fine. Another part of the law will be extremely unpopular with Smith County inmates. Officials say as of January 1, all inmates will have to go without their smokes.
