EAST TEXAS — With cooler temperatures and decorating for the holidays, fire season is here as well. According to our news partner KETK, Thanksgiving day, Van Zandt county faced two catastrophic house fires. Earlier this month, there were 3 fires in one night in Tyler, given the season there will be more before year’s end. The American Red Cross East Texas is reminding residents of things to be mindful of over the next few weeks, during the peak time of fire season.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to Prater, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153last week we responded to seven house fires. House fires, they happen, they happen right here in East Texas, they can happen to you.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\nWhen picking a tree this season, choose a tree with fresh, green needles that do not fall off when touched.
