Linda Goelzer told KTBB that  while Blood supply tends to wane during the winter months, this year the need is more dire. Goelzer said, &#8220;We are reaching out with a heavy appeal to our community, because we are in a critical situation, truly critical.&#8221; The Director of Public Relations continued, &#8220;There&#8217;s no other way to get blood for patients, except through altruistic donors.&#8221;<!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>The situation requires the blood center to collect a blood donation from 1,500 people every day for the next week. Carter BloodCare asks donors to make an appointment to give blood immediately. Walk-ins are welcomed. Donors may text or call 800-366-2834 for an appointment.
