\"\"JACKSONVILLE — A fire appears to have done extensive damage to the La Quinta Inn on Highway 69 South in Jacksonville. Our news partner KETK reports the fire sparked Monday morning at around 3:00. Crews said they went floor by floor to help evacuate hotel guests. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people had to be evacuated or the damage the fire caused. It was also not immediately clear if the fire was sparked by lightning. But according to a hotel employee, shortly after the hotel lost power, guests came down to say there was a fire at the top of the building.
