According to our news partner KETK, Deborah Smiley McFadden, was convicted of killing her ex-boyfriend, Edward Eugene George Jr. She was sentenced to 40 years in prison. McFadden was released on a $5,000. McFadden, who was Deborah Gaye Smiley at the time of the shooting,  was living with George Jr. while divorcing her husband, Terry Smiley, whom she had previously shot in the leg. Following an argument with George Jr. McFadden retrieved a gun from her car and shot the victim in the face. McFadden claimed self-defense.
