Under City Manager Ed Broussard&#8217;s proposed budget, Tyler&#8217;s property tax rate would increase less than half a cent. The budget also calls for a slight increase in water and solid waste charges. The first of two public hearings on the tax rate and proposed budget is scheduled for August 22nd. The budget is scheduled to be adopted on September 12th. Smith County is also proposing a slight increase in its 33 cent tax rate.
