The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the nominations of Cam Barker and Jeremy Kernodle to fill judicial vacancies on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Tyler. Barker was nominated by the president to fill the position previously held by Judge Leonard Davis. His spot became open when Davis took senior status in May, 2015. Kernodle was named to fill the post previously held by Judge Michael Schneider. He moved to senior Status in January, 2016.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ktbb.com\/post\/wp-content\/media\/2018\/06\/Jeremy-Kernodle-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-720708\" \/><br \/>\nBoth of the state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s U.S. Senators has praise for the men. Senator John Cornyn said, they \u00e2\u20ac\u0153are some of the sharpest legal minds in Texas.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Senator Ted Cruz added, that they \u00e2\u20ac\u0153represent the best of our state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s legal community.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Baker serves as Deputy Solicitor General in the Texas Attorney General\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office.
