The sheriff&#8217;s Department has received several complaints recently that the scam has targeted residents. They have received a call saying they are named in a warrant for missing jury duty. The caller even uses names of current Smith County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office employees. The caller then says the person can pay a fine to avoid arrest. According to the sheriff&#8217;s department, no one from the Smith County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office, or any other law enforcement agency, would collect fines by phone.
