The fire in the 4200 block of the Old Troup Highway was reported around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. Six engines and two ladder companies along with a district chief and an investigator responded to the blaze. Flames were visible on the roof when firemen arrived. Investigators say workers constructing a new roof on the structure were using a propane torch and accidentally ignited wooden material beneath the roofing.
