Motorists will notice road tubes at 6,400 locations around the Tyler district. The traffic data will be collected 24 hours a day on all system roadways through April 26th. Contract personnel are collecting the data  for TxDot in Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, Van Zandt, and Wood counties. The data is used for planning, funding distribution and pavement and bridge design.
