The Southside Park bathroom reconstruction began on Feb. 27. In January, the City Council approved the investment of $43,364 for repairs at the park. That&#8217;s after a fire damaged the restroom facility, leaving it inoperable for park goers. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Highlights of other parks improvements in progress<\/p>\n<p>Hillside Park: The orange construction fence has gone up, playground equipment and other amenities removed, and the area will continue to be under renovation for several months.<\/p>\n<p>Faulkner Park: The upper concession stand is being renovated this month, with expectations to open in early March.<\/p>\n<p>Fun Forest Park: Texas College has contracted to use Tommy Paul Field, and repairs to the swimming pool are currently in progress.<\/p>\n<p>Lindsey Park: New signage will begin appearing around the park.<\/p>\n<p>Rose Rudman Trail: New LED trail lights will be up and going by the end of March, pending weather.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER &#8212; There&#8217;s lots to report on improvements and updates at city parks in Tyler.
