\"\"<\/a>TYLER \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Tyler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Emergency Operation Center, which opened Tuesday, remains open. The EOC is being utilized to coordinate local agencies\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey evacuees. Tyler has also set up a transitional hub at the Faulkner Park Police Substation on West Cumberland Road, to help direct evacuees to needed resources. It opened at noon on Wednesday. Since then, it had registered 260 people for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance and each received an ETN wristband tied to services available in the area. The ETN wristband will allow access to evacuees for services such as free meals at the Salvation Army, basic necessities at Colonial Hills Baptist Church and clothing needs from Cornerstone. The Hub will be in operation from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily. A social security card is not required to register for FEMA. The American Red Cross will be working with the Salvation Army to coordinate meals for evacuees staying in our area. Any restaurants wishing to donate meals to help in this relief effort can call 903-730-5117. Call volume may be high, and callers are asked to please leave a message.<\/p>\n

Colonial Hills Baptist Church is serving as a collection and distribution center for evacuees. They are taking items like toiletries, non-perishable foods, diapers (adult and child), coloring books\/crayons, dog food (10lb or less bags) and stainless steel dog bowls.
