Sgt Darrell Colsin is one of four persons in the running for the Palestine post. With over 32 years of law enforcement experience, St. Colsin is the Public Information Officer and administrative supervisor for the Smith County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office. A certified master peace officer, Coslin attended McNeese State University and Navarro College.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Other finalists are<br \/>\n*Andy Harvey,  Lieutenant for the department\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Crime Scene Response Section *Bennie Baker, of Tucson, Airzona, who has over 30 years experience in law enforcement<br \/>\n*Earl Morrison, from 2014 to 2017, the Hutto police chief  <\/p>\n<p>Starting Wednesday July 5, the four finalists will take part in interviews and public events through July 7. On Wednesday July 5, the four finalists will take part in a meet-and-greet event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Palestine City Council Chambers, 504 N. Queen St. <\/p>\n<p>The four finalists will then be interviewed by two separate panels of interviewers on Thursday, July 6. The first panel will comprise of three assessors, three current officers representing the Palestine Police Officers Association, and Interim Chief R.C. Johnson. The second panel will comprise of eight members, including staff, council members and the general public. <\/p>\n<p>Later that evening on July 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ben E. Keith Community Room, the public will once again get the opportunity to meet the finalists in a casual dinner setting. <\/p>\n<p>On Friday, July 7, the finalists will be interviewed by current officers and staff. The officers will also have the opportunity to rank their preferences. <\/p>\n<p>The feedback from all four sessions will be presented to administrators.
