GILMER — Three Upshur County Officials, indicted on charges of official oppression and abuse of official capacity, have turned themselves into authorities. Released on their own personal recognizance were County Judge Dean Fowler, Sheriff Anthony Betterton and Precinct 3 Commissioner Lloyd Crabtree. The action comes after they ended public comment at commissioners court meetings and allegedly threw a man out for having duct tape over his mouth.
