The pledge came this week during the mayor&#8217;s annual State of the City Luncheon. Currently underway is over $4 million dollars in improvements to the Golden Road Water Treatment Plant. And, over the next ten years, the city anticipates spending over $97 million on 100 projects to improve water and wastewater systems. And they feel over two-thirds of those improvements will be paid for in cash. Also planned are improvements for city streets and drainage. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Heines said that this year the city has put forth plans outlining the next twenty years of projects for the City. &#8220;City Staff has rolled out a new website called TylerPublicWorks.com where you can track project plans and work with real-time data. Everything from water, wastewater, streets, drainage, historic preservation- even the Rose Garden complex&#8221; and the Harvey Convention Center is part of a master plan that leverages current resources to meet future needs. The mayor reminded those in attendance that much of what was identified in the plan is still many years away. <\/p>\n<p>The mayor reminded the audience that the city is a lean organization. But even in challenging times they keep moving forward. Mayor Heines added, &#8220;We rely heavily on the private sector to partner with us and invest in our community.
