The Fund Development committee made the announcement Monday night at Willow Brook Country Club during the final membership meeting of the year. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We are truly grateful to all of the individuals, businesses and foundations who continue to support the league in our fundraising efforts,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Karolyn Davis, Fund Development Vice President of the Junior League of Tyler, in a news release.<!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>The Junior League of Tyler grants both funds and volunteers to other non-profit organizations in Smith County through an extensive application process every year. In order to raise money for these endeavors, the League hosts events such as Mistletoe &#038; Magic, Touch a Truck, and Rose City Restaurant Week. The League has also produced three cookbooks and, most recently, a children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s book, the proceeds of which all go back into the community. When funds are granted to an organization through Junior League, League members also commit to volunteer with the organization throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Agencies or projects receiving funds for the 2017-2018 year are as follows: Alzheimer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Alliance, Bethesda Health Clinic, Champions for Children, Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Advocacy Center, East Texas Food Bank, JLT Girl Power, Habitat for Humanity, JLT Summer Reading Camp, Literacy Council of Tyler, Meals on Wheels, The Mentoring Alliance, Refuge of Light, St. Paul Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Foundation, Texas Adaptive Aquatics, Tyler Area Business Education Council and Tyler ISD Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
