The future of commuting is looking like something closer to a robot driver, and an East Texan is weighing in. Texas is already a testing ground for self driving cars. A bill in the state Legislature would keep it that way while balancing the need for safety on the roads. Senator Robert Nichols of Jacksonville chairs the Transportation Committee.  Nichols says, &#8220;There are some people who want to invest money in our state for economic development, that they need some certainty in the law that these vehicles are allowed.&#8221;  Manufacturers GM and Toyota support the bill, testifying that automated vehicles will save lives.
