Tyler police say officers responded at 1:44 p.m. to Wal-Mart on Troup Highway, where they report Dean was trying to fraudulently return property at the Customer Service counter. Arriving officers say Dean was observed getting into a vehicle and leaving the scene.  One officer was at the rear of his vehicle trying to tell him to stop. The other officer was at the front of his vehicle as Dean reportedly drove at the officer, who had to take evasive action. Authorities say Dean continued driving and fled the scene.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Officers located the abandoned suspect vehicle in the Woods subdivision.  They set up a perimeter with the assistance of the Smith County Sheriff\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Office, the Department of Public Safety, and UT Tyler police.  A Tyler Police K-9 arrived to try to track the suspect in a heavily wooded area north of Bascom Road and the Woods. At 3:52 p.m., officers say they spotted Dean returning to the area where the vehicle had been left near Bent Ridge and Lazy Creek .  Officers pursued him on foot and were able to take him into custody.     <\/p>\n<p>Dean was charged with the following:<\/p>\n<p>1)     Tyler Police Department (TPD) warrant &#8211; burglary of vehicle<br \/>\n2)     TPD warrant &#8211; failure to identify as a fugitive<br \/>\n3)     TPD warrant &#8211; public intoxication<br \/>\n4)     Smith County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (SCSO) warrant &#8211; theft<br \/>\n5)     SCSO warrant &#8211; unauthorized use of motor vehicle<br \/>\n6)     SCSO &#8211; evading arrest 2nd offense<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s charges:<\/p>\n<p>7)     Aggravated assault on a peace officer<br \/>\n8)     Evading in a vehicle<br \/>\n9)     Fleeing on foot from police<br \/>\n10)    Possession of a stolen firearm<br \/>\n11)    Felon possession of a firearm <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER &#8212; 25-year-old Deaveron Rakin Dean of Tyler faces a total of 11 charges following a Saturday incident that kept law officers busy for over two hours.
