They unpacked more than 900 books and 140 audio books, a valuation of nearly $40,000 worth of materials. The collection includes fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels and Hi-Lo books (high interest, low reading level). The Tyler library was one of three libraries in the country to be awarded the Great Books Giveaway. It&#8217;s a program with the Young Adult Library Services Association in part of the American Library Association.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>They started the application process last December. Youth Services Librarian Linda Gray stated in her application that the Library has a limited young adult collection, and that having more age-appropriate material would not only benefit active teenage library-users, but also programs that serve as outreach opportunities.
