The honor comes from Truven Health Analytics, which evaluates clinical and operational performance in 11 areas. This includes such areas as inpatient mortality, complications, 30-day risk-adjusted readmission rate and the patient rating of the overall hospital performance. Researchers evaluated close to 3,000 short-term, acute-care, nonfederal hospitals for the survey.
