Tidwell notes that a broad goal of the university is to become the primary educational and economic driver for East Texas.  On this week&#8217;s edition of &#8220;In Focus&#8221; on KTBB, Tidwell said while he was considering the job, he was impressed with the search committee.  According to Tidwell, &#8220;They wanted to focus on community engagement, partnerships.
