It happened around 7:30 just north of Highway 64. According to the Department of Public Safety report, a truck hauling a trailered Mustang was traveling south on Loop 49 when the vehicle rolled off the trailer into traffic. A truck traveling in the northbound lane of Loop 49 struck the Mustang, killing the truck&#8217;s driver. He was identified as John Turner, 23, Quitman. Two passengers were transported to East Texas Medical Center.
