During deliberations for the 2016-17 budget, the funding for the fireworks show was cut. It was trimmed in order to present a balanced budget without property tax increases. But, when the council passed the budget, they directed staff to fund the fireworks, if funds were found. City Manager Mike Alexander has informed the council they went through all the line items and found the available funds.
