The accident happened around 7:30 Monday morning near the intersection of U.S. Highway 79 and State Highway 204. Killed was Gerald Thornton, 89, of Jacksonville. He was a passenger in a SUV driven by Freddy Sontag, 75, of Jacksonville. Sontag was transfered to a Tyler hospital for treatment. The other driver, Logan Ryan Wood, 19, of Jacksonville, is being treated at a Jacksonville hospital. A passenger in his pickup was not injured.
