Officers responded to the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Frankston Highway around 3:40 a.m. and contacted 3 victims. According to a police news release, the victims said they were attending a party somewhere in Smith County off highway 64 West. Upon leaving the party, they were approached by a black male who asked for a ride.<!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>Once in the vehicle the suspect brandished a weapon and demanded money from the victims. The suspect then forced the victim who was driving to drive to an ATM. The suspect then made the victim use his debit card and take an undisclosed amount of money out of his account.  After leaving the ATM, they drove a short distance and were told to stop. The suspect exited the vehicle and got into  another vehicle that had been following them. At this point the victims drove to Walmart and called police.   <\/p>\n<p>The suspect was described as a heavy set black male, approximately 23 to 27 years old, around 6 feet tall. He was wearing a baseball cap, blue shirt and jeans. One victim said the suspect vehicle was a white Volkswagen Jetta, approximately a 2012 model. There were no reported injuries, although one victim said he was struck in the face with the pistol. All victims are students and not from Tyler. They are not familiar with the city of Tyler and the exact locations involved in this incident are still being investigated, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any information related to this incident, you&#8217;re asked to contact the Tyler Police Department immediately by calling 911 or 903-531-1000.
