These schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues.<\/p>\n<p>WHITEHOUSE &#8211; County Road 2138, south of Whitehouse will be closed beginning Monday for the reconstruction of the bridge at Blackhawk Creek. Work on the bridge, located 1.2 miles north of Highway 110, is being done by the Texas Department of Transportation and is expected to take about six months. Electronic signs have been placed on the CR 2138 to alert drivers that it is closed to traffic. Motorists will need to find alternate routes during this time.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Districtwide seal coat operations continue with work returning to Farm Road 1861 in Henderson and Van Zandt counties Tuesday, weather permitting. The work limits are from Farm Road 316 moving east to State Highway 19. The contractor then plans to move operations to State Highway 110 from Farm Road 1255N going southeast to Farm Road 18 in Van through Wednesday. The week winds down with work on U.S. Highway 69 from the Wood County line moving southeast to north of Lindale in Smith County. This will be daytime work conducted by the contractor, Brannan Paving Co., LTD, of Victoria, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The summer seal coat operation is the department&#8217;s preventive maintenance program that helps preserve roads by sealing them to keep water out, thereby, adding years of life to them, and lessening the required maintenance while providing a new driving surface for motorists. Seal coat applications are conducted on roads around the Tyler District&#8217;s eight counties. Motorists should bypass seal coat locations when possible to avoid delays.<br \/>\nSmith County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>Loop 323 West Widening at UPRR Underpass<br \/>\n*Limits: Tyler&#8217;s West Loop and SH 31<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $12 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Winter 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor is preparing to restripe Loop 323 at SH 31. Some traffic shifting may be necessary as medians are installed north of SH 31. Work continues on sidewalks as well. The project includes widening Loop 323 from SH 31 to Shaw Street. The speed limit on Loop 323 in the work zone has been reduced to 45 mph from SH 64 to Shaw Street.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 31E Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 757 to FM 2012<br \/>\n*Contractor: Reynolds &#038; Kay, LTD<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.8 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2017<br \/>\nWork continues on the westbound passing lanes. Expect lane closures on this project designed to add passing lanes for multiple sections of roadway in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Once the widening is complete, a seal coat and final surface will be applied. A daily construction speed limit of 60 mph is in place when work is being performed.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 64<br \/>\n*Limits: from Chapel Hill to Arp<br \/>\n*Contractor: Drewery Construction of Nacogdoches<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.9 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2016<br \/>\nFinal work is being performed on this project to add passing lanes between FM 2607 and Arp. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 1253 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From County Road 462 south, 1.3 miles north of FM 857 south to FM 1805; FM 1804 from Wood County line to US 69; FM 2015 from CR 313 to FM 16<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.5 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor continues slope work on FM 1804 along with placing riprap along the Sabine River Bridge. Work on FM 2015 includes replacing mailboxes. No activity planned for FM 1253 this week. Expect lane closures. This contract consists of widening, sealing and resurfacing all three roadways.<\/p>\n<p>Spur 248 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From 1.75 miles west of FM 848\/Old Omen Road going east to SH 64 southeast of Tyler<br \/>\n*Contractor: Lonestar Equipment Company, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $8.6 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2018<br \/>\nThe contractor resumes work on the eastbound lanes including retaining walls and storm drains. Expect lane closures. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph during construction. This project will widen Spur 248 from two lanes to a four-lane divided roadway with flush median.<\/p>\n<p>County Road Bridge Replacement Projects<br \/>\n*Limits: CR 4129 at Mud Creek near Lindale; CR 3104 at Prairie Creek north of FM 1252 near Winona; and CR 2138 at Blackhawk Creek south of Whitehouse<br \/>\n*Contractor: Pierce Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $947,000.00<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2017<br \/>\nCR 2138 near Whitehouse is set to close Monday, September 12, with work to remove and replace the existing bridge getting underway September 19. County Roads (CR)<br \/>\n3104 and CR 4129 are already closed as work to build new bridges and approaches progresses. Each road will be closed for about six months.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 271 Repairs and Resurfacing Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 2015 southward to Oakwood Street\/Spur 147 in Tyler<br \/>\n*Contractor: Reynolds &#038; Kay<br \/>\n*Cost: $4.3 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nExpect daily lane closures as seal coat operations continue on this 4.5-mile project to repair and resurface the roadway. Use alternate routes if possible to avoid delays.<\/p>\n<p>Interstate Highway 20 Resurfacing Project<br \/>\n*Limits: Eastbound lanes from FM 14 eastward to US 271<br \/>\n*Contractor: Clark Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $2 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor is implementing a mobile operation to conduct final work which includes removing temporary striping on this project to resurface a 4.8-mile stretch of I-20. Lane closures are possible.<\/p>\n<p>GREGG COUNTY &#8211; Longview Maintenance continues overlay hot mix operations on Farm Road 1844 between Spur 502\/Judson Road and SH 300\/Gilmer Road. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car providing traffic control. Once completed, the crew moves to Kilgore near the Traffic Circle at SH 135 intersection to make pavement repairs. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>Gregg County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 2275 George Richey Extension (Segment I)<br \/>\n*Limits: McCann Road west to SH 300 (Gilmer Road)<br \/>\n*Contractor: East Texas Bridge, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $12.4 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2017<br \/>\nMcCann Road is open to traffic requiring the traveling public to stop at the new &#8220;Stop&#8221; signs at George Richey before proceeding through the intersection. Meanwhile, the contractor is hauling embankment as utility relocation and right of way clearing activities continue on this new roadway construction to connect Gilmer and McCann roads. This Segment I project includes constructing two bridges and a four-lane roadway with center left turn lanes from McCann Road to SH 300\/Gilmer Road. Excavation, embankment, bridge construction, subgrade treatment, storm drains, hot mix asphalt, curb and gutter and sidewalk are all part of the new construction.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 2275 George Richey Extension (Segments II &#038; III)<br \/>\n*Limits: McCann Road to US 259<br \/>\n*Contractor: East Texas Bridge, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $12.8 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe outside southbound lane of Judson Road remains closed as the contractor makes tie-ins to the new FM 2275. The contractor continues construction of traffic signals, curb and gutter, and sidewalk work between McCann Road and US 259. Work also continues between Judson Road and US 259. This project is constructing a new roadway from McCann Road to US 259.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 449<br \/>\n*Limits: US 259 to FM 2751<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $607,133.00<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nNo work is planned this week on this project to widen FM 449 two feet on each side and apply an overlay as well as conducting culvert work on the west end of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Loop 281 at Farm Road 2087 Overpass<br \/>\n*Limits: SH 31 to approximately one mile south of SH 31<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview.<br \/>\n*Cost: $13.2 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: January 2017<br \/>\nWith southbound traffic now on the new bridge and Sabine Street and FM 2087 open to traffic, the contractor continues the installation of illumination, curb and gutter, inlets, embankment, a new exit ramp for SH 31, and paving. This project is building a new overpass over the railroad crossing. Expect delays in the detour areas.<\/p>\n<p>ANDERSON COUNTY &#8211; Palestine Maintenance resumes work on southbound Farm Road 59 at the intersection of Farm Road 2961. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 79 New Lane Construction Project<br \/>\n*Limits: 1.6 miles southwest of Loop 256 in Palestine south to the Trinity River<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview.<br \/>\n*Cost: $42.7 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: End of 2016<br \/>\nProject work currently centers on the area from CR 2205 to just south of FM 645. The contractor is working on detours in the area of FM 645 at Tucker. This project expands a 5.3 mile section of US 79 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway with a continuous left turn lane and a depressed median. Work started in November 2012.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 19 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: 3.6 miles north of FM 837 (Henderson Co. line) south to .4 mile north of FM 321 at Montalba<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction of Hewitt<br \/>\n*Cost: $12.5 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2017<br \/>\nCulvert, driveway and utility work is ongoing along the right of way where this roadway is being widened. Expect daily lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control. The posted speed limit is 55 mph.<\/p>\n<p>Off-System Bridge Replacement Project<br \/>\n*Limits: County Road (CR) 471 at Box Creek; CR 4801 at Indian Creek; CR 1231 at Stills Creek<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $817,412.15<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nWork continues on the bridge replacement project on County Road 1231 at Stills Creek. The roadway is closed to traffic with detours in place. The new bridges at Box Creek and Indian Creek are open to traffic with the contractor continuing closeout activities.<\/p>\n<p>CHEROKEE COUNTY &#8211; Jacksonville Maintenance crews continue culvert work on U.S. Highway 69 south of Loop 456. Rusk Maintenance resumes channel and culvert cleaning activities on various roads around the county. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control at all work locations.<\/p>\n<p>Cherokee County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 69 Widening and Resurfacing<br \/>\n*Limits: From Loop 456 in Jacksonville going south to just north of Loop 62 in Rusk<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $11 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor will be applying the final striping to the roadway this week. The project is widening US 69 by adding 2&#8242; edge treatment and resurfacing the road. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 69 Widening and Resurfacing<br \/>\n*Limits: From 0.028 mile south of FM 343 in Rusk southward to just north of SH 21 in Alto<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $9.3 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nSeal coat work resumes requiring lane closures daily on this project to widen and resurface US 69.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 69 Widening and Resurfacing<br \/>\n*Limits: From .37 miles north of FM 344 to .02 miles north of FM 347<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $5.6 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor is preparing for final cleanup activities on this project to widen and resurface this portion of US 69.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 79 Repairs and Resurfacing Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From SH 204 to Mud Creek<br \/>\n*Contractor: Reynolds &#038; Kay<br \/>\n*Cost: $5.7 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2017<br \/>\nWork on the subgrade continues in the westbound lanes. Expect lane closures for the remainder of the project when construction activities put equipment close to the travel lanes. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this location when possible. The roadway is being repaired and resurfaced. The speed limit has been reduced. Remember, traffic fines double when workers are present.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 22 and Farm Road 23 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From US 69 south of Jacksonville going SW to 1.5 miles west of FM 768 (Gallatin area); FM 23 from FM 343 to FM 1857<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $8.5 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor continues to install driveways on FM 23. Expect lane closures. These are safety projects designed to widen the roadways from 20&#8242; to 24&#8242; along a 4.2-mile section.<\/p>\n<p>County Road Bridge Replacement Projects<br \/>\n*Limits: CR 1707 at One Arm Creek west of Rusk between FM 347 and FM 2138 and CR 2303 at One Eye Creek south of Rusk between FM 23 and FM 752<br \/>\n*Contractor: Stateline Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $699,993.90<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Winter 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor is conducting work on the abutments with both CR 1707 and CR 2303 remaining closed as new bridges and approaches are built. The closures will last for about six months. <\/p>\n<p>HENDERSON COUNTY &#8211; Athens Maintenance plans to conduct seal coat work on Farm Road 1803 from State Highway 31 to Farm Road 317 and on Loop 60 from U.S. Highway 175 to US 175. Elsewhere, contractors will perform ditch maintenance on State Highway 198 from State Highway 334 to Ranch Road 3054 as well as on Farm Road 607 from Loop 60 to Farm Road 317. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control at all work locations.<\/p>\n<p>Henderson County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 317 Repair Project (Notice of Project Completion)<br \/>\n*Limits: At Athens Fish and Game Lake Dam<br \/>\n*Contractor: Fritcher Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $446,216.00<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Late Summer 2016<br \/>\nRepair work is complete and this roadway\/bridge is open to traffic. The road closed in March 2015 due to a flood-related washout about three miles east of SH 31. Repairs are expected to be completed later this summer, weather permitting. The plans for the permanent repairs have been coordinated with the Corp of Engineers and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 175 Widening Project (Phase I)<br \/>\n*Limits: 0.1 miles southeast of FM 804 near Baxter southeast to 1.1 miles east of Loop 60E at Larue<br \/>\n*Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, Inc. and Big Creek Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $39.2 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: November 2018<br \/>\nThe eastern portion of Loop 60 is closed through the summer for construction of the new westbound mainlanes on this project that expands US 175 from two lanes to a four-lane divided with a depressed median. Drivers should expect one lane carrying two-way traffic throughout the project limits as well as occasional day time lane closures. Drivers on adjacent county roads and FM 804 should anticipate a change in traffic flow due to the detour now requiring two-way traffic on US 175. Dirt and drainage work around Loop 60E in Larue to near Baxter is ongoing. The speed limit in the construction zone has been set at 55 mph so slow down because traffic fines double when workers are present. Phase I construction started April 6, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 175 Widening Project (Phase II)<br \/>\n*Limits: 1.1 miles east of Loop 60B at LaRue to 0.85 mile east of FM 315 at Poynor<br \/>\n*Contractor: Sundt Construction, Inc., of San Antonio<br \/>\n*Cost: $37.8 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Late Summer 2017<br \/>\nNight work is being conducted between the hours of 5 a.m. and 11 p.m., Monday-Friday. Dirt work continues around FM 315 south of Poynor and several other locations. Drainage work is also ongoing at locations throughout the project. Work on drill shafts for the bridge overpass in the eastbound and westbound travel lanes continues at FM 315S. As part of the new highway construction, a short stretch of CR 4401 has been permanently closed from the intersection of US 175&#8217;s new eastbound lanes to the new right of way. The rest of CR 4401 remains open with access from CR 4345\/Camp Road.<\/p>\n<p>This Phase II project will expand US 175 from two lanes to a four-lane divided with a depressed median. Drivers should anticipate two-way traffic throughout the project limits which stretch 4.7 miles ending just east of FM 315 in Poynor. The speed limit has been set at 55 mph. A portion of this phase is being built on new location around the south side of Poynor. This like Phase I, is a mobility project to add capacity and improve safety, and includes adding one lane in each direction.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 175 Widening Project (Phase III)<br \/>\n*Limits: 0.85 miles east of FM 315 in Poynor, southeast to .5 miles NW of SH 155 at Frankston<br \/>\n*Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $27.6 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Spring 2019<br \/>\nThe contractor expects to continue installing and maintaining storm water control measures throughout the project limits. Lane closures are possible. This project is expanding US 175 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway with a depressed median.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 315\/FM 1616 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 314S to CS End at County Road 4325, 4224, etc.<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction, LTD, of Hewitt, Texas<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.07 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Late Summer 2016<br \/>\nThe construction widening project is ongoing with work to extend the cross structures. One-way traffic can be expected throughout the project limits with daily lane closures. FM 1616 is expected to be completed this summer. Final work is being performed on FM 315.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 31 Bridge Painting Project &#8211; Westbound at Trinity River\/Eastbound at Cedar Creek<br \/>\n*Limits: From just east of Cedar Creek to just west of the Trinity River<br \/>\n*Contractor: Olympus Painting Contractors Inc., of Clearwater, Florida<br \/>\n*Cost: $2.3 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2016<br \/>\nWork has resumed under the eastbound Cedar Creek Bridge necessitating daily lane closures in one travel lane. Delays should be minimal. Bridge decks have been completed on both the westbound Trinity River Bridge and the eastbound Cedar Creek bridges.<\/p>\n<p>RUSK COUNTY &#8211; Henderson Maintenance resumes overlay operations on State Highway 64 between Loop 571 and Farm Road 15 at the Smith County line. Expect the roadway to be reduced to one lane carrying two-way traffic with flaggers and a pilot car guiding traffic through the work zone.<\/p>\n<p>Rusk County construction projects updates:<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 259 North Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From Star to Loop 571<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $4.3 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nAsphalt paving operations continue during the day on this 2.3 mile project that includes base repairs, mill and inlay of asphalt surface, applying a hot mix overlay, and upgrading the pavement markings. Expect alternating lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 79 South Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From Loop 571 in Henderson going southwest for 3.0 miles to FM 839<br \/>\n*Contractor: Drewery Construction Co., Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost:  $6.7 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2017<br \/>\nThe contractor continues widening operations on this portion of US 79. Expect lane closures and delays with one-way traffic control. Flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. Work continues to place embankment on the widened edges. The posted speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph throughout this work zone and is being enforced by DPS. The project includes widening the existing pavement and adding a center left turn lane resulting in a new asphalt surface when the job is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 3135 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: 1.9 miles NE of US 79 (W of CR 222) north to 1.7 miles SW of FM 1251<br \/>\n(CR 262)<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $2 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Early Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor is currently conducting culvert work. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control. The project consists of widening the pavement and installing milled centerline rumble strips on this three-mile section of roadway.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 95 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: FM 1798 to SH 315<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $2.5 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Early Fall 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor plans to install metal beam guard fence on the project this week. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control. The project is widening a four-mile section of the road and adding shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 1798 Overlay Project (Notice of Completion)<br \/>\n*Limits: From US 259 to FM 225<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $1.8 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Late summer 2016<br \/>\nThe contractor has completed construction work on this project but continues to perform final close out activities. The project consisted of placing an asphalt overlay on the roadway.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 43 Overlay Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From four miles south of FM 2658 to FM 3231<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $4.6 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2016<br \/>\nNo work is scheduled this week. The project consists of placing an asphalt overlay on the roadway, base repairs, and new metal beam guard fence.<\/p>\n<p>VAN ZANDT COUNTY &#8211; Canton crews continue mill and inlay operations on US 80 just west of Grand Saline. Helmcamp, Inc., of Buffalo<br \/>\n*Cost: $11.9 million<br \/>\n*Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2018<br \/>\nWork continues to extend the cross structures and install driveway pipe between SH<br \/>\n64 and I-20. The contract also includes rehabbing the road north of SH 64 and laying hot mix for driveways south of SH 64.
