According to a news release, the community is encouraged to send in nominations for the annual award by Aug. 22 to P.O. Box 1432, Tyler, TX 75710.  Honorees will be announced in January 2017 and will be honored at the Annual Women in Tyler Luncheon on March 23, 2017, at the Rose Garden Center.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Women in Tyler was founded in 1999 as a way to celebrate Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s History Month and to honor women who have contributed to the quality of life in the community, according to the release.  Each year, a diverse planning committee has gathered to select women who are then honored at a celebratory luncheon held each March. This year marks the 18th anniversary of the committee&#8217;s founding. This year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s co-chairs are Gwendolyn Cuba and Rosa Gonzales.  Anyone who would like to participate in planning this event is asked to come to the first meeting, at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce Building&#8217;s Genecov Room, 315 N. Broadway.  After that, all meetings will be on the first Monday of each month at the same time and same location.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $30 and are on sale now for the March luncheon.
