Results received Tuesday showed two samples collected tested positive for West Nile virus. One batch was taken from  Kidd Drive and the other sample was collected at Donnybrook Avenue across from Rose Rudman Park. TMC treated the target areas Tuesday and will be conducting a door-to-door campaign to inform  residents in the area about the virus, as well as preventative measures. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>TMC treats standing water with larvicide and insect growth regulator tablets and fogs and will continue to do so for the remainder of mosquito season.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153TMC conducts weekly identification and arboviral testing throughout the City,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Chris Lennon, Code Enforcement manager. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153With the data provided from those tests, TMC implements the appropriate preventative measures to help reduce the mosquito population within the City.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>All citizens are encouraged to remember the 4 Ds to optimize protection from mosquitoes. Deet: use insect repellent while outdoors at all times to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes and other insects. Dress: wear long, loose and light-colored clothing \u00e2\u20ac\u201c including pants and long sleeves. Drain: drain all standing water in and around the home and office.
