According to information from the city of Palestine, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has declared that Anderson, Cherokee, Smith, and Wood counties are eligible for individual assistance. Those four counties, along with Cass, Harrison, Jones, Upshur and Van Zandt counties, are also eligible for public assistance.  FEMA cited major rains and flooding from April 17 to April 30.<br \/>\nIndividuals and businesses can apply for FEMA relief through the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.disasterassistance.gov\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.disasterassistance.gov<\/a> or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
