He died at a local hospital. According to KETK, the Mayor of Longview, Andy Mack, heard the news about his friend and cousin. &#8220;This should not have happened. Ronnie was one of the good guys. And he&#8217;ll be very very missed in our community,&#8221; said Mack. He said Horaney was a well-known business owner, husband, father, and friend to many people in Longview. The 54-year-old and his mother, Betty, own one of Longview&#8217;s oldest family businesses, Horaney&#8217;s Feed stores in Longview and Marshall. His grandfather, Harry Horaney founded the business in 1940.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>City Spokesperson for the City of Longview, Shawn Hara said, &#8220;The Horaney business has been here for 75 years in Longview. They are not just for their customers a big impact, but they&#8217;ve been so community minded.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The Horaney family and they said they want to thank the community for their support, and that Ron Horaney was a great husband, father, son and brother. Horaney leaves behind a wife and 5 kids, one of whom will graduate from high school later this week. The Gregg County Sheriff&#8217;s Office as well as Texas Rangers and State Troopers are working the case.
