The wreck occurred around 3:30 Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 271 north of Gilmer. Dead at the scene was Robert Wayne Williams, 57. He was killed when his pickup pulling a utility trailer hit a truck involved in an earlier accident.  An 18-wheeler traveling north, crossed into oncoming traffic, sideswiping another semi traveling south. The northbound truck tipped and landed across the roadway and was hit by Williams&#8217; pickup.
