The center has been recertified as an  Advanced Primary Stroke Center and adding continuous 24\/7 care in interventional radiology. The designation was granted by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations with a Gold Seal of Approval. ETMC also earned the American Heart Association American Stroke Association\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Heart-Check mark. ETMC  was the first hospital in East Texas and one of the first in Texas to become a certified stroke center in 2005.
