Improvements to U.S. Highway 259 at Eden Drive and Tryon Road in Longview are being halted after comments from a March 17th open house-style public meeting revealed a lack of public support for the proposed project. The Longview Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) said no changes will be made to the intersection.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Residents provided input and recommendations to three proposed U.S. Highway 259  at the March meeting. During the two-week public comment period  following the open house, 284 comments were received by mail, email and in person.
