It happened shortly after 4:00 Saturday afternoon on private property in Garrison. Killed was Romeo Tejeda Castro, who would have been 4 in May. Investigators say just before the start of an Easter egg hunt, a family member headed to the store in an SUV. As the vehicle started, the youngster, who could not be seen, was standing near the right front tire. When the SUV started to turn around in the driveway, the boy was hit and dragged about 60 feet down the driveway. The child was pronounced dead at Nacogdoches Medical Center. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The child&#8217;s parents placed the boy in a private vehicle and headed to the hospital. A short time later a deputy located the vehicle on highway 59 and the vehicle pulled to the side of the roadway. The deputy could not feel a pulse on the child and immediately started CPR. The deputy conducted CPR on the child for 9 minutes on the side of the roadway until EMS arrived. EMS continued CPR and transported the child to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff&#8217;s Department and the Garrison Police Department. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GARRISON &#8211; A three year old Nacogdoches County boy has died in an Easter weekend accident.
