According to KETK, in December 2007, Austin Taylor Wages, 16 and Nicole Payne, 35, were found shot to death in their home near Quitman. Several weapons were also found in the home. Authorities eventually arrested Jason Payne, the husband and stepfather, in Nacogdoches and charged him with murder. Payne was sentenced to life in prison in 2010.
