And Tyler continues to outpace the state as well as the national figures. The Texas Workforce Commission reports last month&#8217;s unemployment rate was 4.5%. That compares to a revised December statewide jobless rate of 4.6%. Nationwide unemployment was 4.9% in January. Tyler&#8217;s not seasonally adjusted figure for January was 4.3%. That is just below the December figure and a half a percentage point below January a year ago. Longview, on the other hand, has seen increasing unemployment. In January 2015, It was 4.5%. Longview&#8217;s unemployment this January was 5.3%.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Texas employers expanded their payrolls in January with the addition of 31,400 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs, marking the tenth consecutive month of job growth for Texas. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Texas employers added 187,400 jobs over the past year, highlighting the diversity of our economy,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Texas Workforce Commissioner Chairman Andres Alcantar. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve seen 157,300 private -sector jobs added over the last year, for a 1.6 percent annual growth rate ,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Ruth R.
