Officials said in a news release that Tyler water utilities customers are the target. Apparently, the scammers are calling customers and telling them their water bill is past due. They ask for payment over the phone via credit card. City officials said they don&#8217;t call customers to notify them of past due bills, they notify customers by letter prior to disconnecting services.
