These schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists traveling State Highway 110S at Farm Road 346 and Acker Tap in Whitehouse should be prepared to take other routes to avoid delays Monday through Wednesday as maintenance crews perform milling work that will require closing main lanes as well as turn lanes. All work will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Get more details in the Smith<br \/>\nCounty section of this news release.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, contractor crews with CDM Holdings continue to place final striping and buttons on roadways across Anderson, Cherokee, Henderson, Smith and Van Zandt counties to finalize district wide seal coat operations. Expect lane closures in these moving work zones.<\/p>\n<p>SMITH COUNTY &#8211; Tyler Maintenance plans to conduct milling work on State Highway 110S at the Farm Road 346 and Acker Tap intersections in Whitehouse. All work will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Watch for flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>Monday: State Highway 110S outside main lanes going north and south closed at the Farm Road 346 signal; outside left turn lanes and right turn lanes closed on FM 346 at the signals<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday: State Highway 110S inside main lanes and outside left turn lane closed<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday: Work moves to State Highway 110 and Acker Tap. Westbound lane of Acker Tap to be closed for milling<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., crews to add striping on FM 346 as part of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Smith County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nFarm Road 1253 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From County Road 462 south, 1.3 miles north of FM 857 south to FM 1805; FM 1804 from Wood County line to US 69; FM 2015 from CR 313 to FM 16<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.5 million<br \/>\nThis contract contains three project locations, including the widening, sealing and resurfacing of  FM 1253. Widening work is set to start on FM 1253 from County Road 462 S, 1.3 miles north of FM 857 southward to FM 1805. Expect lane closures. Crews working on FM 1804 plan to install driveway culverts which could require closures with flaggers assisting. Current work on FM 2015 does not require lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Loop 323 West Widening<br \/>\n*Limits: Tyler&#8217;s West Loop and SH 31<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $12 million<br \/>\nTemporary detours remain in place as work on the retaining walls, drainage and the new bridge continues. No left turns from Loop 323 onto Bellwood East. Motorists should use caution when traveling through this work zone as crews and heavy equipment are working close to the travel lanes. Expect lane closures. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid delays.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes widening Loop 323 from SH 31 to Shaw Street. The speed limit on<br \/>\nLoop 323 in the work zone has been reduced to 45 mph from SH 64 to Shaw Street.<br \/>\nConstruction is in full swing with an expected completion date in early 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Loop 323 Northeast Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From American Legion Road (@ the Loop 323 Extension to US 271) south to Commerce St.<br \/>\n*Contractor:  Reynolds and Kay, LTD.<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.4 million<br \/>\nWork continues on edges and placing final striping on this portion of Loop 323. The project includes culvert extensions, base repair, level-up and placing an overlay. Expect daily shoulder closures. Completion expected later this winter.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 31E Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 757 to FM 2012<br \/>\n*Contractor: Reynolds &#038; Kay, LTD<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.8 million<br \/>\nNo work is planned on this project. When work resumes, expect shoulder closures as excavation and embankment work continue on the north side of this project designed to add passing lanes for multiple sections of roadway in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Once the widening is complete, a seal coat and final surface will be applied. A daily construction speed limit of 60 mph is in place when work is being performed on this 18-month job.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 31E Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 850 to FM 757<br \/>\n*Contractor: East Texas Bridge, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.4 million<br \/>\nFinal inspection work continues for this project which includes widening SH 31 east of Tyler  by building passing lanes for multiple sections of the roadway in both directions. The new passing lanes are open to traffic. Expect shoulder closures.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 64<br \/>\n*Limits: from Chapel Hill to Arp<br \/>\n*Contractor: Drewery Construction of Nacogdoches<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.9 million<br \/>\nExpect lane closures as crews conduct driveway work and place concrete riprap on this project to add passing lanes between FM 2607 and Arp. Motorists are urged to use extra caution when traveling through this work zone.<\/p>\n<p>GREGG COUNTY &#8211; Longview crews plan to continue asphalt mill and inlay work on U.S. Highway 271 south of Gladewater at the intersections of SH 135N and Loop 485S. Expect lane closures in NB and SB lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Gregg County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nInterstate Highway 20 Total Maintenance Contract<br \/>\n*Limits: Gregg, Smith and Van Zandt counties<br \/>\n*Contractor: Fireman Excavating<br \/>\nThe contractor has moved the work to the eastbound and westbound main lanes in Smith<br \/>\nCounty. Expect lane closures and delays during this work.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 31 Landscape Project<br \/>\n*Limits: 0.3 miles north of FM 2205 (Grace Creek) to 0.2 miles south of U.S. 80 (Cotton) in Longview<br \/>\n*Contractor: South Texas Illuminations, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $281,249.70<br \/>\nNo work this week for this project which comes as a result of the city winning one of 10 Governor&#8217;s Community Achievement Awards presented by Keep Texas Beautiful in partnership with TxDOT which allocates $2,000,000 a year as landscape incentives to<br \/>\ncompeting communities based on population and efforts in litter prevention and cleanup, public awareness, beautification and property improvement, solid waste management, illegal dumping and enforcement, and education. No traffic impacts.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 2275 George Richey Extension (Segments II &#038; III)<br \/>\n*Limits: McCann Road to US 259<br \/>\n*Contractor: East Texas Bridge, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $12.8 million<br \/>\nThis project is constructing a new roadway from McCann Road to US 259. Clearing between Judson and Airline roads continues with excavation, embankment, bridge construction, subgrade treatment, storm drain and other work between McCann and<br \/>\nJudson roads. The contractor recently began paving operations. While this is a new location project that generally doesn&#8217;t impact traffic motorists should plan to take other routes to get around Airline Road which is closed through March 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 449<br \/>\n*Limits: US 259 to FM 2751<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\nNo work planned this week on this project to widen the road and add shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>Loop 281 at Farm Road 2087 Overpass<br \/>\n*Limits: SH 31 to approximately one mile south of SH 31<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview.<br \/>\n*Cost: $13.2 million<br \/>\nThis project to build a new overpass is in Phase III of construction with traffic moved off the existing loop onto the detours. Concrete work on the bridge approaches is ongoing. Expect delays during the peak evening hours. Caution advised in detour areas.<\/p>\n<p>SH 42<br \/>\n*Limits: From SH 31 north to I-20<br \/>\n*Contractor: Reynolds &#038; Kay, Ltd.<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.7 million<br \/>\nNo work is occurring on this job this week. The project is constructing a left turn lane at Hillcrest Road along with storm drain and curb and gutter. Project completion expected soon. Expect lane closures with flaggers directing traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Interstate Highway 20 PFC Project<br \/>\n*Limits: SH 31E to the Harrison County line<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $5,584,277<br \/>\nMotorists should expect daytime delays as the contractor makes repairs to bridge joints on the eastbound and westbound lanes. Embankment is also being placed on shoulders and ramps at SH 42 and SH 31. Expect intermittent ramp closures. Alternate routes encouraged if possible. The project consists of applying a porous friction course (PFC) surface overlay,<br \/>\nshoulder texturing, and pavement markings as well as work on the I-20 on ramps. Porous friction courses (PFC) consist of placing hot mix asphalt mixtures at the surface of a pavement structure in a thin layer to produce benefits for the traveling public such as safety, economy and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Landscaping Projects<br \/>\n*Limits: Intersection of SH 31 at SH 42<br \/>\n*Limits: Intersections of I-20 at Estes Parkway; and I-20 at Eastman Road<br \/>\n*Contractor: South Texas Illuminations, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $400,000<br \/>\nThis is a landscaping project to enhance various intersections throughout Gregg and Rusk counties. Crews are working at the intersections of SH 42 and SH 31, and I-20, Estes Pkwy and Eastman Road. The majority of the work is outside the travel lane in the median and should have little impact on traffic. The travelling public should be cautious of construction vehicles entering and leaving the project sites.<\/p>\n<p>ANDERSON COUNTY &#8211; Palestine crews plan to conduct blade level up work on State Highway 294 between Farm Road 322 and U.S. Highway 79. Expect lane closures with flaggers directing traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nU.S. Highway 79 New Lane Construction<br \/>\n*Limits: 1.6 miles southwest of Loop 256 in Palestine south to .4 mile southwest of FM 645<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview.<br \/>\n*Cost: $42,740,365.19<br \/>\nThe project continues to progress with the contractor performing flex base on the south end of the job. Work in the southbound lanes includes cleanup concrete work and other activities in the curb and gutter section, priming flex base and pouring riprap. Sanderson Blvd. remains closed for with traffic detoured to Florence Street. Expect additional lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 19 Widening in Anderson County<br \/>\n*Limits: 3.6 miles north of FM 837 (Henderson Co. line) south to .4 mile north of FM 321 at Montalba<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction of Hewitt<br \/>\n*Cost: $12,487,715.87<br \/>\nWork is ongoing to widen SH 19 in this area. Lane closures and delays are to be expected as flex base and cement treat operations progress. Flaggers and a pilot car are providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>Off-System Bridge Replacement Project<br \/>\n*Limits: County Road (CR) 471 at Box Creek and County Road (CR) 4801 at Indian Creek<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $817,412.15<br \/>\nCR 471 at Box Creek is closed to through traffic as a new bridge is built. Completion is set for January.<\/p>\n<p>CR 4801 at Indian Creek is also closed to through traffic. A new detour is now in place and the existing bridge is being removed.<\/p>\n<p>CHEROKEE COUNTY &#8211; Rusk crews plan to conduct shoulder and edge repairs on U.S. Highway 84E as well as ditch maintenance on Farm Road 241. The Jacksonville crew is set to conduct maintenance activities at the intersection of US 79 and SH 204. Expect lane closures at both locations with flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., crews to add striping on FM 347 as part of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 22 and Farm Road 23 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From US 69 south of Jacksonville going SW to 1.5 miles west of FM 768 (Gallatin area); FM 23 from FM 343 to FM 1857<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $8.5 million<br \/>\nThe contractor anticipates starting culvert work on FM 22. No work is scheduled for FM 23. These are safety projects designed to widen the roadways from 20&#8242; to 24&#8242; along a 4.2 mile section.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 69 Widening and Resurfacing<br \/>\n*Limits: From Loop 456 in Jacksonville going south to just north of Loop 62 in Rusk<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $11.5 million<br \/>\nThe contractor continues work in the median on this project to add 2&#8242; edge treatment and resurfacing the roadway. No planned lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 69 Widening and Resurfacing<br \/>\n*Limits: From 0.028 mile south of FM 343 in Rusk southward to just north of SH 21 in Alto<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $9.7 million<br \/>\nNo work is currently scheduled for this project.<\/p>\n<p>HENDERSON COUNTY &#8211; Athens crews plan to spend the first few days of the week at the Athens Municipal Airport making base repairs in preparation for crack seal operations. A second crew will be addressing needed repairs on eastbound State Highway 31 between Trinidad and Malakoff. This part of SH 31 will be reduced to one lane with flaggers providing traffic control. Later in the week, crews will perform edge repair work on FM 317 between FM 314 and FM 315. Expect lane closures with flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., crews to add striping on Farm Road 2709 as<br \/>\npart of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Henderson County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nState Highway 31 Repair Project<br \/>\n*Limits: .09 miles west of FM 317 eastward to .34 miles west of FM 773<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction, Ltd., of Hewitt<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.6 million<br \/>\nThe contractor is currently placing striping on this roadway and anticipates guardrail work to start soon. The project consists of milling the existing surface and placing a new overlay on the roadway. Expect lane closures on this job which is expected to be completed by the end of this month.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 175 Widening Project (Phase I)<br \/>\n*Limits: 0.1 miles southeast of FM 804 near Baxter southeast to 1.1 miles east of Loop 60E at Larue<br \/>\n*Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, Inc. and Big Creek Construction<br \/>\n*Cost: $39.2 million<br \/>\nThe project expands US 175 from two lanes to a four-lane divided with a depressed median. A traffic switch now has eastbound motorists driving on the new detour. Drivers should expect one lane carrying two-way traffic throughout the project limits as well as occasional day time lane closures. Drivers on adjacent county roads and FM 804 should anticipate a change in traffic flow due to the detour now requiring two-way traffic on US 175. Dirt and drainage work around Loop 60E in Larue to near Baxter is ongoing. The speed limit in the construction zone has been set at 55 mph so slow down because traffic fines double when workers are present. Phase I construction started April 6, 2015 and has an anticipated completion date in November 2018.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 175 Widening Project (Phase II)<br \/>\n*Limits: 1.1 miles east of Loop 60B to 0.85 mile east of FM 315<br \/>\n*Contractor: Sundt Construction, Inc., of San Antonio<br \/>\n*Cost: $37.8 million<br \/>\nConstruction is underway on this Phase II project to expand US 175 from two lanes to a four-lane divided with a depressed median. Drivers should anticipate two-way traffic throughout the project limits which stretch 3.4 miles ending just east of FM 315 in Poynor. The speed limit has been set at 55 mph. A portion of this phase will be built on new location around the south side of Poynor. This like Phase I, is a mobility project to add capacity and improve safety, and includes adding one lane in each direction. It is a two-year project.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 315\/Farm Road 1616 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 314S to CS End at County Road 4325, 4224, etc.<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction, LTD, of Hewitt, Texas<br \/>\n*Cost: $3.07 million<br \/>\nFM 315 has been widened and prepared for surface mix operations to begin. The contractor is installing new driveway pipe on FM 1616. Drivers should anticipate two-way traffic throughout the project limits with daily lane closures. Completion expected in summer 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 316 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 1256 south to FM 3080<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction, Ltd., of Hewitt<br \/>\nNo work is planned this week on the widening project.<\/p>\n<p>Off-System Bridge Replacement Project<br \/>\n*Limits: Cardinal Drive at Little Duncan Creek in Murchison<br \/>\n*Contractor: Hartbeat Construction of Tyler<br \/>\n*Cost: $314,919.44<br \/>\nCardinal Drive is closed to through traffic as a new bridge is built. Completion set for January.<\/p>\n<p>RUSK COUNTY &#8211; Henderson crews plan to resume edge repair work on Farm Road 839 between Farm Road 1662 and U.S. Highway 84. Expect lanes closures with traffic control provided by flaggers and a pilot car.<\/p>\n<p>Rusk County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nFarm Road 3135<br \/>\n*Limits: County Road 222 to County Road 262<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\nThis project consists of widening the road and adding shoulders. The contractor will be conducting work on culverts and seeding edge of roadway. Expect lane closures and delays with two-way traffic control provided by flaggers and a pilot vehicle. Slow down and use caution.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 95<br \/>\n*Limits: FM 1798 to SH 315<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company, LLC<br \/>\nThis project consists of widening the road and adding shoulders. Contractor will be installing safety end treatments on driveways and extending cross culverts. Traffic can expect some delays. Motorists are reminded to use caution in this and all work zones.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Highway 79 Repair Project Night Operations<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 225 going north to the Traffic Star (intersection of US 79\/SH 64\/SH 43\/US 259)<br \/>\n*Contractor: Madden Contracting Company<br \/>\n*Cost: $5.2 million<br \/>\nDaytime work continues with striping of the main lanes during the day. Lane closures and delays can be expected as work is conducted Monday through Friday. Watch for flaggers providing traffic control. The resurfacing project is expected to be completed this winter providing motorists a smoother, safer ride.<\/p>\n<p>State Highway 64 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: 0.173 miles west of BU 64E (N. Marshall St.) east to 0.2 miles west of U.S. 79 (Traffic Star)<br \/>\n*Contractor: Lonestar Equipment Company, Inc.<br \/>\n*Cost: $2.1 million<br \/>\nThe contractor plans to apply striping on the main lanes. Expect lane closures on this job to widen SH 64 through Henderson.<\/p>\n<p>The project started in August 2013 and consists of widening the existing two-lane roadway and constructing a four-lane facility along with a continuous Left Turn Lane with the majority of work being performed outside the existing travel lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Landscaping Projects<br \/>\n*Limits: SH 64 and US 79<br \/>\n*Contractor: South Texas Illuminations, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $400,000<br \/>\nThis is a landscaping project to enhance various locations in Rusk County (in conjunction with the contract in Gregg County.) Crews are working on SH 64 and Loop 571. The majority of the work is outside the travel lane in the median and should have little impact on traffic. The travelling public should be cautious of construction vehicles entering and leaving the project sites.<\/p>\n<p>VAN ZANDT COUNTY &#8211; Canton crews will continue to address maintenance issues around the county including ditch work, patching potholes, mailbox requests, and other<br \/>\nactivities.<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., crews to add striping on Farm Road 47 and Farm Road 2909 as part of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips.<br \/>\nExpect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Van Zandt County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nState Highway 64 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 858 near Ben Wheeler to FM 314<br \/>\n*Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., of Buffalo<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.4 million<br \/>\nThe new passing lanes are open to traffic as crews continue to apply the final hot mix surface to the roadway. This work is expected to be completed later this month, weather permitting, so motorists should be prepared for daily lane closures. This project is expected to improve safety and mobility on SH 64.<\/p>\n<p>SH 198 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: from SH 243 in Canton southwest to 0.4 miles northeast of FM 316 near Phalba<br \/>\n*Contractor: Big Creek Construction, Ltd., of Waco<br \/>\n*Cost: $5 million<br \/>\nWork to backfill the structures on the east side of the roadway continues. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 314 Widening Project<br \/>\n*Limits: from I-20 to the Van Zandt\/Henderson County line<br \/>\n*Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., of Buffalo<br \/>\n*Cost: $11.9 million<br \/>\nErosion control activities continue south of Edom. No lane closures planned.<\/p>\n<p>Purtis Creek State Park Road Improvements Project<br \/>\n*Limits: Within Purtis Creek State Park to just off FM 316<br \/>\n*Contractor: Construction Companies Group, LLC<br \/>\n*Cost: $90,549.00<br \/>\nCleanup work continues on this project to upgrade Park Road which runs .573 miles inside the park. It should be completed soon. No lane closures planned.<\/p>\n<p>WOOD COUNTY &#8211; Mineola crews are addressing ditch maintenance at several locations:<br \/>\nFarm Road 515 at Farm Road 17; Farm Road 17 at County Road 1558; and on Farm Road 1804 at Mineola. Base repairs and level up work will be conducted on Farm Road 14 between Farm RoadM 49 and State Highway 154. Expect lane closures at all locations with flaggers providing traffic control.<\/p>\n<p>TxDOT contractor, Striping Technology, Inc., crews to add striping on Farm Road 515, Farm Road 2869, and State Highway 154 as part of the district-wide safety project to add centerline rumble strips. Expect lane closures.<\/p>\n<p>Wood County construction projects updates:<br \/>\nState Highway 37 Roadway Repair<br \/>\n*Limits: from FM 2088 in Quitman to 0.4 miles south of FM 515 in Winnsboro<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\n*Cost: $7.7 million<br \/>\nNo work on this site which runs from 0.4 miles south of FM 515 in Winnsboro southward to FM 2088.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Road 2869 Project<br \/>\n*Limits: From FM 852, south of Winnsboro going south to FM 2088<br \/>\n*Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road, Ltd., of Longview<br \/>\nWork on pavement edges as well as guardrail on northbound and southbound lanes of travel within the project limits.
