According to a city news release, the mixer will be hosted in the City University building at 212 N. Border Ave., across from City Hall.

Officials say area makers, artists, engineers, techies, entrepreneurs, and creatives are welcome to share their thoughts about needed equipment, programming, and space allocation for the new Innovation Pipeline building. Breakout sessions will cover woodworking, metal fabrication, film-making and technology needs. Officials say all guests will be invited to share their insights and suggestions for what equipment, software, and space division should be included in the Innovation Pipeline Makerspace.

City leaders say the meeting is meant to build on the first Makerspace Mixer, held Oct. 15 at the Foundry Coffee House. Assistant City Manager Susan Guthrie says turnout was great for the first meeting. According to the news release, the Innovation Pipeline stems from the Mayor’s Industry Growth Initiative (IGI) and will be both a place and a network that brings together those working to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Officials say the new Innovation Pipeline will include an “Innovator’s Laboratory” Makerspace to provide a place where innovation happens intentionally.

For more information about the Innovation Pipeline or this event, visit http://www.TylerInnovationPipeline.com or contact Susan Guthrie at sguthrie@tylertexas.com or (903) 533-7444.
