According to a news release, her office has worked with its voter registration vendor and the National Change of Address database to determine the number of Smith County voters who need to update their addresses with the Elections Department.   Nelson says her office is mailing out letters and address change forms, asking voters to update their addresses by filling out a form and mailing it back to her office.  She says the goal is to get as many addresses updated as possible prior to the mass mailout of the new voter certificates in December.<!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Voters who do not update their addresses will not receive their new voter certificates and will be placed on a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153suspense,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or suspended, status because their address will not be current, according to Nelson. If a voter still has a suspended status after two federal elections, the voter will then be purged from the voter roll.
