According to a TISD news release, districts, campuses, and charters receive one of three ratings under the new accountability system: Met Standard, Met Alternative Standard, or Improvement Required. The District, Robert E. Lee and John Tyler high schools, five middle schools, and nine elementary schools were rated as Met Standard. Of those, eight earned one or more distinction designations. Distinctions are awarded based on high levels of achievement in a particular index, according to the release. The performance index framework includes four areas: Student Achievement, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps and Postsecondary Readiness.

TISD points out that five Improvement Required schools missed only one of the applicable index targets and three missed two of the applicable index targets. District officials add that two schools that received an Improvement Required rating for 2014 received a Met Standard in 2015. And they say an appeal has been filed with TEA for T. J. Austin Elementary School, which received an Improvement Required rating.

TISD Schools and Ratings:
T J Austin Elementary – Improvement Required
Stewart Middle School – Met Standard
St. Louis Early Child Center – Met Standard
Robert E Lee High School – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Science
Rice Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA, Top 25 Percent Student Progress
Ramey Elementary – Improvement Required
Peete Elementary – Improvement Required
Owens Elementary – Met Standard
Orr Elementary – Improvement Required
Moore MST Magnet School – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness
DR Bryan C Jack Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Science, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Postsecondary Readiness
Douglas Elementary – Improvement Required
Dogan Middle – Improvement Required
Dixie Elementary – Met Standard
Clarkston Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Top 25 Percent Student Progress
Boulter Middle – Met Standard
Bonner Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Top 25% Student Progress
Birdwell Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, Top 25% Student Progress, Postsecondary Readiness
Bell Elementary – Met Standard
Woods Elementary – Met Standard
John Tyler High School – Met Standard

UT Tyler Innovation Academy:
Tyler – Met Standard

Longview ISD:
Bramlette Elementary – Met Standard, Top 25 Percent Student Progress
Forest Park Magnet School – Met Standard
Foster Middle – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Postsecondary Readiness
Hudson Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness
Ware Elementary – Improvement Required
South Ward Elementary – Met Standard, Top 25 Percent Student Progress
Playing for Keeps Early Childhood – Met Standard
Ned E Williams Elementary – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA, Top 25 Percent Student Progress, Top 25 Percent Closing Performance Gaps, Postsecondary Readiness
Longview High School – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Postsecondary Readiness
Lead Academy High School – MES
Judson Middle – Met Standard, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Top 25 Percent Student Progress
Johnston-McQueen Elementary – Met Standard
J L Everhart Magnet Elementary – Met Standard

TYLER – The Tyler ISD Friday released its figures after the Texas Education Agency issued the 2015 state accountability system ratings for school districts and charter schools across the state.
