KETK reports that around 1:30 a.m., authorities received a call about a person looking into the windows of homes in the 100 block of N. Cotton Street. When police made it to the scene, they found a suspect matching the description that was called in to dispatchers. The man had reportedly been spotted at two different houses.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>When officers tried to speak with the man, later identified as Jose Alberto Mejia of Gladewater, he ran, according to police. After a brief foot chase, officers say they were able to take Mejia into custody. He was charged with evading arrest with previous convictions and two counts of disorderly conduct\/looking into dwelling.  Mejia is a registered sex offender.
