According to KETK, Abbott was joined by members of Kari\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s family at a signing ceremony hosted in the Governor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Public Reception Room.  \u00e2\u20ac\u0153There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a lesson virtually every parent teaches their child \u00e2\u20ac\u201c if you face an emergency, call 9-1-1,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Governor Abbott said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I am signing Kari\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Law to ensure that whenever there is an emergency, any child and any adult who dials 9-1-1 is going to be able to connect with emergency personnel to ensure they come to the rescue of those who need help the most. The couple&#8217;s daughter tried to call 9-1-1 but didn&#8217;t realize she had to dial &#8220;9&#8221; first to get an outside line.
