According to a press release, Solid Waste will be picking up items for one week only, Monday, April 6 through 10. They ask that residents place their bulky items on the curb by Monday, April 6. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bulky items to be picked up at no charge include furniture, appliances, carpet, fence material, up to four non-commercial vehicle tires, old toys and other large items that would normally require a special fee. No liquid waste, limbs or brush will be picked up. Paint must be dried out with oil dry or kitty litter.<\/p>\n<p>City officials said there is no need to call the Solid Waste Office when bulky items are placed at the curb. Items may be collected on a different day from regularly scheduled garbage collection.<\/p>\n<p>Also, many bulky items will be accepted during regular business hours at the City of Tyler Recycling Center. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is located at 418 N. Bois D\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Arc Ave., downtown Tyler. They will accept the following items at the Recycling Center:<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Paper (newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, ads and office paper)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Cardboard of any type (broken down)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Plastic (rinsed and crushed #1 and #2 HDPE, lids removed; examples- water or soda bottles, milk jugs and detergent bottles)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Glass (rinsed clear, green and brown glass bottles and jars with lids removed) NO BLUE GLASS OR MIRRORS<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Ink Cartridges<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Electronics (computers, TVs, monitors, cell phones, chargers and other portable devices)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Metal (copper, aluminum, brass and steel)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Aluminum cans (rinsed and crushed, no aluminum pie plates or tin)<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Household appliances including air conditioners and refrigerators DO NOT require a disposal fee this week as long as you provide a current water bill<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Motor oil\/hydraulic fluid<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00b7         Automotive batteries\/anti-freeze<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.TylerSolidWaste.com\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.TylerSolidWaste.com<\/a> for more information about the free bulky item collection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER &#8212; The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department and Keep Tyler Beautiful are sponsoring a FREE bulky item collection for City of Tyler residential customers as a part of Spring Cleanup Week.
