Police said Coignard was shot multiple times when she allegedly rushed an officer with a knife in her hand in the Longview Police Department lobby on January 22.   A group that considers the police response unjustified has organized &#8220;police accountability demonstrations&#8221; and a candlelight vigil at police headquarters.  In an effort known as &#8220;Justice for Kristiana,&#8221; participants planned to kick off the demonstrations at noon today.  The vigil is scheduled to get underway at 5:30 this afternoon, and the demonstrations are due to resume at noon Sunday. <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>After receiving word of planned counter-protest activity, authorities asked supporters of LPD to stay home to avoid possibly making matters worse. Barricades, flood lights, and caution tape were put up Friday.  Public Information Officer Kristie Brian said parts of the property would be cordoned off.  But KETK reports that by Friday afternoon, police supporters were already setting up for their own demonstration. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a law firm has announced that Coignard&#8217;s family has retained its services.  Tim Maloney will represent Coignard&#8217;s parents. A press conference will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in San Antonio.
