For the seventh consecutive year, Longview Transit will give free rides to anyone within Longview city limits on New Year\u2019s Eve between 8:00pm and 3:00am. Rides can be scheduled by calling Longview Transit at 903-753-2287 ext.10. To prepare for the Safe-Ride-Home project, Longview Transit\u2019s regular route service will end early at Noon on Wednesday, December 31. This curb to curb service will be available to and from any destination.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This service is offered to the general public, including individuals that have had a couple drinks, individuals attending events, or those that simply do not want to drive that evening. Longview Transit encourages riders to schedule trips in advance if possible. According to Longview Transit General Manager Scott Lewis, \u201cLongview Transit has been providing Safe-Ride-Home transportation on New Year\u2019s Eve for several years now, and it continues to be a great service for the community.\u201d The Safe-Ride-Home initiative is made possible by partnering with R&#038;K Distributors, with special thanks to Home Depot and the Made-Rite Company.
