Taken into custody is Charles Nathaniel Harder, 24. It started about 10:45 Monday morning with a report of a man holding a gun on a woman in a pickup on Ridgetop Road, south of Tyler. When officers arrived, the pair had moved inside a home. Officials say the suspect left the house a couple of time, fired a gun into the ground, and went back inside. Officers talked to him by phone, and convinced him to leave the house. After being taken into custody, Harder is said to have stopped cooperating with officers, who had to use a stun gun on him. He was booked into the Smith County jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $250,000.
